Electronic Timekeeper Information

To learn about and prepare for June upgrade changes to electronic timekeeping, review the information below.

Upgrade Changes for Electronic Timekeepers

Security change to prohibit electronic timekeepers from entering their own time
Note: This does not impact electronic timekeepers who support self-service time entry departments.

This security enhancement better aligns M-Pathways security with the internal control guidelines recommended by the University Audits Office and the University Payroll Office.

Plan ahead! If you or one of your department’s timekeepers reports his/her own time in M-Pathways, consider the following alternatives.

  • Have your department’s backup timekeeper report time for the primary timekeeper, or
  • Communicate with other departments in your area to arrange for timekeepers to report time for each other.

Payroll Implementation Timeline

  • Tuesday, June 3, 10:00 a.m.:
    • Data entry deadline for last biweekly payroll before the upgrade (June 6 pay date)
    • Data entry deadline for Prior Period Adjustments (PPAs) in M-Pathways for any payroll processed in current version.
    • After the 10:00 a.m. deadline, all electronic timekeeper access will be restricted until v.9 is available
  • Monday, June 9: Upgrade scheduled for completion.
  • Tuesday, June 17, 10:00 a.m.: Biweekly payroll day entry deadline for first biweekly payroll run after the upgrade. (June 20 pay date)
  • Tuesday, June 25, 10:00 a.m.: Monthly payroll data entry deadline for first monthly payroll run after the upgrade (June 30 pay date)

Timekeeper Interchanges in May
MAIS and the payroll offices will provide overviews of the Time and Labor changes, and allow time for questions at the following Timekeepers Network interchanges. You need only attend one session.
