Accessing My LINC Training Simulations
On This Page:
Windows Users Need RapidPlayer and Adobe Flash to Run Simulations
To use the training simulations in My LINC, Windows users need the RapidPlayer browser plug-in and Adobe Flash plug-in software on their desktop.
RapidPlayer
This plug-in is available for computers running Windows 2000 and XP, which are the two Windows operating systems that ITS supports. RapidPlayer is part of the standard software for many units, so it may already be on your computer.
If you need to install software on your computer, download the RapidPlayer plug-in and follow the accompanying installation instructions. The plug-in installation takes only a minute or two. Internet Explorer 6.0 and 7.0 uses RapidPlayer 5.
Run the Sample Simulation: To ensure that the RapidPlayer plug-in is working correctly on your Windows computer, try this sample simulation after the plug-in is installed.
Adobe Flash Player Plug-in
Adobe Flash Player plug-in version 7 or greater is required to run certain simulations.
Note: If you need to install the plug-in or need assistance, contact your desktop computer administrator.
Macintosh Users Need Citrix to Run Simulations
Macintosh users must access My LINC through Citrix.
Choose Wolverine Access Gateway from the Citrix Start menu and then choose My LINC (Learning & Information Center)
from the Wolverine Access University Business page. Macintosh users do not need to install the RapidPlayer plug-in to use the
M-Pathways training simulations.
If your unit allows you to install software on your computer, download the
Citrix ICA Client software and follow the accompanying installation instructions.
Verifying Unit Policies Regarding Software Installation
Many units, including LSA, Business and Finance, and the Hospital and Health Centers, do not want individuals to download software to their workstations from the Web. If your unit has this policy and you use M-Pathways on a Windows computer, contact your system administrator to arrange for installation of the RapidPlayer or Adobe Flash plug-in.
If you have questions about your unit's policies regarding downloading software from the Web, contact your Unit Liaison.
