Authentication: Your Uniqname & UMICH (Kerberos) Password

To access University business resources on the Wolverine Access Gateway, as well as many other U-M computing services, you need to enter your uniqname, which identifies you, and your UMICH (Kerberos) password, which authorizes and authenticates you. All U-M faculty, staff, and students have a uniqname and a UMICH (Kerberos) password. Your uniqname is like a user ID or user name, and it is also part of your e-mail address (uniqname@umich.edu).

If you don't know your uniqname or password:

• You can enter your name in the U-M Online Directory to display your record, which lists your uniqname.
• You can contact the ITCS Accounts Office for assistance with setting a new password.
