Human Resource Data Sets for Ad Hoc Reporting
The Human Resource data sets contain reformatted data from the
M-Pathways HRMS and the legacy administrative data systems.
Human Resource data sets are:
M-Pathways Human Resource Data Set: Contains
information abut all regular and temporary employees of the University
of Michigan. This information includes demographic data, job data,
regular pay data, and additional pay data relating to each employee's
job. Information is available from July 1, 2001, forward and will
carry all history from that date forward. The data set is generally available Sunday, noon - Saturday, 11:00 p.m., except when the data is being refreshed. Refer to the Refresh Information for specific refresh times.
Note: Additional documentation and training for this data set is available on MAIS LINC.
M-Pathways Human Resource Snapshot Data
Set: Human Resource Snapshot data set tables are populated as
of a given point in time to provide a static representation of portions
of the Human Resource data set, and to provide additional fields
that are used for specific internal and external reporting.
The tables in this data set are populated with information pertaining
only to regular employees (no temporary employees) who held an active
appointment (including leaves other than disability) at the time
the snapshot was taken. This data set supports reporting requirements
from July 1, 2001, forward.
The Human Resource Snapshot data set is useful for:
- Viewing, analyzing, or reporting on human resource data as of
the current month.
- Comparing the snapshot data taken each November with official
University reports produced by University Human Resources (UHR) (e.g., Faculty Census and
Data Displays).
- Viewing an employee's current information (no history).
- Developing Faculty Census or Workforce Trend Reports, especially
after a few years of data are available in the data set.
This data set is loaded once a month and includes data as of the
first calendar day of the month. Each month's
snapshot load deletes the previous month's load; however, the snapshot
loaded in November of each year is not deleted. Snapshots taken
in November are kept for ten years. The data set is generally available Sunday, noon - Saturday, 11:00 p.m., except when the data is being refreshed. Refer to the Refresh Information for specific refresh times.
Note: Additional documentation and training for this data set is available on MAIS LINC.
M-Pathways Benefits Data
Set: Contains information about people enrolled in benefits at the University of Michigan,
including employees and retirees. This information includes demographic, job, benefit enrollment,
benefits billing and benefit remittance data for anyone eligible to be enrolled in U-M benefit
plans. Historical information is available from June 6, 2001, forward, and a snapshot of Legacy
data is available for June 2001, December 2000, and January 2000. The data set is generally available
Sunday, noon - Saturday, 11:00 p.m., except when the data is being refreshed. Refer to the Refresh
Information for specific refresh times.
Access to this data set is restricted to the following central offices: Human Resources
Records and Information Services (HRRIS) and Benefits Office.
Note: Additional documentation and training for this data set is available on MAIS LINC.
Legacy Human Resource Data Set: Contains
faculty and staff data, including appointments, funding, job classes,
leaves, terminations, tenure, and employment history from 1978 to
June 2001. Used, for example, to track the composition of a unit
over time, track faculty appointments and tenure status, calculate
average time in rank, and evaluate historical changes in compensation
for a person.
Note: Additional documentation and training for this data set is available on MAIS LINC.
