BusinessObjects Licensing and U-M Data Warehouse Access

A BusinessObjects license must be assigned to anyone who uses BusinessObjects reporting tools, such as InfoView or WebI. InfoView is for users who only need to run, view and print reports. WebI is for users who need those functions, as well as the ability to create, modify, format and save reports.

As of October 2007, there is no charge to departments for the initial cost of the software or for maintenance fees. The license covers all employees: regular, temp faculty, contractors, etc. It does not cover students unless the student is employed by the University.
