Scholarship Match Gains National Recognition
Scholarship Match, a system that quickly and accurately matches students with donor-restricted scholarship funds, was featured in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
The article focuses the critical issue of financial support to students, and how the University is implementing enterprise systems despite a decentralized culture.
Scholarship Match, an excellent example of business intelligence on campus, streamlines the labor-intensive process of matching students to donor criteria. What used to take months can now be done automatically. Students are no longer required to complete paper applications, and units can more adequately use all their scholarship funds.
Scholarship Match was first piloted by the College of Engineering and the Ross School of Business in 2006. Six additional units hope to utilize the system in the next cycle of awards this spring.
The Chronicle is a national magazine that focuses on news and information for college and university faculty members and administrators. You may read the article here.
