M-Pathways - Physical Resources |
M-Pathways Physical Resources System
The M-Pathways Physical Resources system consists of three modules: Asset Management, Inventory, and Space Management.
- The Asset Management module is used to track and maintain information about the University's assets, including their identification and description data, acquisition and status data, location and unit contact information, and financial data. The Cost Reimbursement Office uses Asset data in the Facilities and Administrative proposal, which is a key component in the Indirect Cost recovery negotiations with the Federal Government.
- The Inventory module is used by some University units to order, replenish, and track the supplies that they warehouse.
- The Space Management module is used to maintain and update data about University buildings, rooms, and facilities in a central database. It allows the Office of Space Analysis and departmental users to change and add space data and to authorize and submit the annual Space Survey. This module also allows the Office of Space Analysis and departmental users to submit space data changes throughout the year, to identify and report on departmental data, and to track room elements.
Within ITS, the Asset Management, Inventory, and Space Management modules are supported by the Financial Systems Division.
Physical Resources Training and Access
ITS coordinates training to support the Physical Resources processes through instructor-led courses and eLearning courses in My LINC.
How to Request Access describes how users can request access to the data they need to do their work.
U-M Policies Safeguard Data
Information and Technology Servicees (ITS) along with the University's central administration, has initiated policies, which ensure that those who have access to administrative data understand their obligation to use the data responsibly and that confidential information is available only to those who need it for specific reporting purposes.
