IT Service Management is a standard set of tools and processes that help people manage and deliver IT services that meet or exceed customer and service expectations.
The Michigan IT community's guiding principles include the aims to "adopt common technology foundations" and to "seek and use common methodologies and standards."
ITS and other campus unit IT service providers are beginning to adopt shared processes and tools that are rooted in industry best practices and which will help create a more integrated service management environment at the University of Michigan.
