M-Pathways Human Resource Management System (HRMS)

The M-Pathways Human Resources Management System (HRMS) consists of the following four highly integrated modules, which provide information to and rely on information from one another:

These HRMS modules share information with modules in other M-Pathways systems, such as the Campus Community module, which stores all personal information for students, faculty, and staff, such as name, address, and U-M identification number (U-M ID or EmplID).

A key benefit of HRMS is that it provides a single source for information, eliminating the effort of maintaining and coordinating individual databases within different departments. The system shares the information contained in the integrated database across the administrative and academic units on all three U-M campuses, in U-M Hospital and Health Services, and in University departments that provide staff services (such as Athletics and Parking Operations).

Using Self Service

A number of self-service options are available to U-M staff via Wolverine Access. Follow these steps to use the self-service options available to faculty and staff:

  1. Open a browser window to the Wolverine Access Gateway
  2. Click Employee Business.
  3. Enter your uniqname and UMICH (Kerberos) password.
  4. Click a self-service option.

Within ITS, the HR module is supported by the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) Division.

HRMS Training and Access

ITS coordinates training to support the HRMS processes through instructor-led courses and eLearning courses in My LINC.

How to Request Access describes how users can request access to the data they need to do their work.

U-M Policies Safeguard Data

Information & Technology Services (ITS), along with the University's central administration, has initiated policies, which ensure that those who have access to administrative data understand their obligation to use the data responsibly and that confidential information is available only to those who need it for specific reporting purposes.
