ImageNow and WebNow v.6.1.6 Workstation Information

Business and Finance Information Technology (BFIT) has created a .bat file to install ImageNow version 6.1.6. With version of ImageNow, v.6.1.6, there is no longer a need to have a static IP number for the ImageNow client to work. All workstations that had static IP numbers only for ImageNow can be released.

1. Confirm that the correct versions of Java are installed:
   
   ImageNow and WebNow v.6.1.6 require that a Java 1.5x or 1.6x plug-in be installed on Windows and Macintosh computers used to access WebNow. If you have administrative rights on your computer, the Java plug-in will automatically install the first time you log into WebNow. If this is not the case, then you will need to install the appropriate plug-in.

2. Make WebNow a "trusted" site:
   
   Please add the WebNow server (https://imaging.umich.edu/webnow) as a “trusted site” so that WebNow can open Word or Excel documents in Internet Explorer.
   Access WebNow v.6.1.6
3. Download file: Download and unzip ImageNow v.6.1.6. Click here for an explanation of the BFIT customized scripts.

   NOTE:

   • Mac users access ImageNow through Citrix.
   • You need to edit the .bat file in the main folder and the .bat file in the Updates folder to enter the network path of the location where you are saving the ImageNow 6.1.6 folder.
   • Launch the .bat file to run the installation.
   • After installation, if Adobe Acrobat Reader v.9 is installed, copy ACE.dll and AGM.dll in [drive]\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader to [drive]\Program Files\ImageNow6\bin. Or, in Internet Explorer, go to Edit>Preferences>Internet and uncheck Display PDF in Browser.
   • The .exe file is the vendor delivered version without running the BFIT scripts.
   • Use the following for the Connection Profile:
     • Name: Production
     • Server ID: myna.dsc.umich.edu
     • Server Type: Production
     • Port Number: 8000
