ImageNow and WebNow v.6.1.6 Testing Instructions

Testing Expectations:

For the Imaging team: The team has been and will continue to be diligent in testing the universal functionality of ImageNow before it is rolled out in August.

For Testers: Please test those processes you use that are unique. These might include Workflows, learn mode applets, capture profiles, and any other processes you think may affect your ability to do your job in August.

If you don’t have specific processes you use in your daily routine, feel free to take the new ImageNow/WebNow applications for a test drive. We are open to all input you care to share before go live.

Testing Guidelines:

Please keep in mind the following as you test and learn more about version 6.1.6:

  • DO NOT call the Help Desk with issues. A form is provided for your input, questions, and observations. Completing and submitting this form will ensure that the information goes directly to the Imaging team. We will contact you for follow up.
  • Images scanned after September 1, 2008, will not be available for viewing during testing. They will appear on the search grid but you will receive an ‘image not found’ error if you attempt to open them. This message is not upgrade-related and does not indicate an actual error. It is a result of the fact that due to the large number of images in our repository, we are unable to replicate the entire Image file system each time we perform a test upgrade.
  • It is likely that you will encounter new functionality as you perform your testing. Much of this functionality, even though it is available in the test environment, will not be part of the v.6.1.6 release. See My LINC for for a comparison between v.5.42 and v.6.1.6..
    • However if you see functionality that you think might be useful to your department, feel free to mention it when submitting your form. Once the upgrade is complete, the Imaging team will work with individual departments to evaluate how they can utilize the new functionality.
    • Please note: ImageNow/WebNow is proprietary software which means there are minimal changes that can be made to the software itself. If you feel there should be changes made (e.g., anything that significantly changes the look or function of the product), please include your comments on the form.
  • Be aware that from time to time, there might be a need to take the system offline. Every effort will be made to notify you in advance but that may not always be possible. If you experience connectivity issues, please submit a form and we will make every effort to have the application back online as quickly as possible.
  • The system will be available for testing from Thursday, July 2 to Friday, July 24, 2009.
