Laura
McCain Patterson is the Associate Vice President for
the University of Michigan's Administrative Information Services
(MAIS). She served as the director of the M-Pathways project, which
resulted in the University-wide implementation of financial, student
administration, and human resource management systems from 1998
- 2001. Patterson joined the University in 1993 as the University
Registrar. Prior to joining U-M, Patterson served as the Registrar
at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire from 1982-93, and she
was the Registrar and Director of Academic Advising at Franklin
College of Indiana from 1978-82.
Patterson holds a bachelor's and a master's degree
from Indiana University and has completed course work toward a Ph.D.
degree from the University of Minnesota. You can contact her at

John Gohsman
is the Director of MAIS Student Administration and Human Resources
Management System Divisions. Gohsman joined the University in 1983
and led the University's effort to develop the Student Administration
System with PeopleSoft. He managed the M-Pathways implementation
projects for Student Administration from 1998 - 2000 and for Human
Resources and Payroll in 2001. Gohsman now manages the operations,
production support, enhancement, and new project efforts in both
of these divisions.

Amy Grier is the Director of MAIS Human Resources. She joined U-M and MAIS in August 2004. She has over 10 years of human resources experience and has led organizational initiatives focusing on compensation, process re-engineering, employee relations, and performance management.
Grier holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She also has earned her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. You can contact her at

Mike Loviska
is the Director of MAIS Shared ServicesDivision. Loviska joined the University in 1986,
serving as the Information Technology Division's Manager of Student
Systems. He acted as the Technical Lead for the M-Pathways Project
from 1995-2000, with responsibility for providing leadership and
guidance on the technical direction of the systems. Loviska now
manages the Data Delivery efforts, Help Desk, user communications
and consulting, and other internal and user systems and services.

Barry
MacDougall is the Director of Finance and Planning for
MAIS. MacDougall started working at the University in 1988. He was
the Assistant Director of the University of Michigan's Office of
Orientation before joining the M-Pathways Project as Assistant Project
Manager in August 1996. MacDougall now directs the financial and
budget administration, facilities administration, and planning activities
of MAIS.

Deborah
Mero, Director of MAIS Financial Systems Division, was
appointed in 1999, after serving as the M-Pathways Unit Liaison
for the Medical School on both Financials and Human Resources. She
also represented the Medical School on the General Ledger implementation
team. Mero joined the University in 1981 as a Senior Financial Analyst,
and became the Finance Director for the Medical School in 1991 with
responsibility for budgeting, grants management, financial reporting,
staff and faculty appointments and functional responsibility for
the Medical School Financial and Human Resource systems.
Mero holds a BS in Business Administration from San
Jose State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Bill Wrobleski,
Director of Technical Information Operations (TIO) Division has
worked on the M-Pathways Project since its inception in 1996, when
he was appointed Technical Infrastructure Manager. He joined the
U-M in 1985, and has, since then, had a number of information technology
roles on campus. From 1990-1995, Wrobleski evaluated and implemented
new technologies for administrative systems as a member of the Technology
Assessment Group. His major project contributions in this position
include development of the original Data Warehouse and original
Wolverine Access.
Wrobleski has a BS in Computer Science and Economics
